Busan Shore Excursion

Busan's two cruise terminals, how far the sights are by road from each, why a day tour is not a shore excursion, and the cruise-port tours that guarantee the return to the ship.

Updated November 2026

Cruise ships in Busan berth at one of two terminals: the International Passenger Terminal at North Port, beside Busan Station, or the Yeongdo Cruise Terminal across the harbour. A shore excursion is timed to your ship and a day tour is not, so book one made for cruise passengers. LOVE KOREA’s (Guaranteed Return) Busan Shore Excursion for Cruise Guests, from US$61 on promotion, usually US$70 a person on its group option (checked November 2026), meets you at whichever terminal your ship uses, spends 8 hours on the city’s main sights and guarantees the return to port.

Powerd by GetYourGuide

The group option cost US$60.54 a person on 27 November 2026 and US$70.39 on 20 January and 10 March 2027; the private option, for 7 to 13 guests, cost US$461.94 for the whole group (checked November 2026). Free cancellation until 24 hours before.

Which terminal

Map of Busan harbour: the North Port terminal beside Busan Station, 6.5 km by road to Gamcheon Culture Village and 4.8 km to Jagalchi Market, and the Yeongdo Cruise Terminal across the harbour, 9.3 km by road to Gamcheon and 7.3 km to Jagalchi
From North Port: 4.8 km by road to Jagalchi Market, 6.5 km to Gamcheon. From Yeongdo: 7.3 km and 9.3 km. Busan Station is 1.3 km by road from North Port.

The Busan Port Authority runs two cruise terminals. The International Passenger Terminal sits at North Port, Piers 3 and 4, in Dong-gu, with one cruise berth. The Yeongdo Cruise Terminal is on Yeongdo, the island across the harbour, with one international cruise pier (Busan Port Authority, checked November 2026). Which one your ship uses is the cruise line’s decision, and the port authority’s pages do not say; your cruise documents will.

North Port is the handier of the two for anyone going it alone: Busan Station, with the subway and the KTX, is 1.3 km away by road. Haedong Yonggungsa, the temple most tours include, is on the far side of the city from both.

Why a day tour is not a shore excursion

The ordinary Busan day tours start at fixed times at subway exits, 8:30 AM at Busan Subway Station on LOVE KOREA’s coach day, and do not wait for a ship. On LOVE KOREA's small-group city day, cruise passengers may be cancelled without notice, because neither the pickup time nor the return to the ship before departure can be guaranteed.

The cruise-port tours turn that round. LOVE KOREA's shore excursion treats its 8:00 AM meeting time as a placeholder and moves it to the ship’s arrival. Korea Go Tours' picks up an hour after the scheduled docking time, and on a short port stay brings you back to the terminal gate an hour before the ship leaves.

What the two LOVE KOREA tours leave out of the price: Busan Tower and the Songdo Sky Cable, both optional and paid on the spot. Their entrance fees are otherwise included, except on the private option. The small-group version does not take children aged 0 to 3. Korea Go Tours includes bottled water and admission, and swaps the Daritdol Observatory for the Dongsaengmal Observatory if bad weather closes it.

On the day

LOVE KOREA’s shore excursion has 1,078 reviews on GetYourGuide at an average of 4.9. Of the 350 most recent, dated 17 July to 6 November 2026, 5 give three stars or fewer. One reviewer (4 November 2026) was off the ship and on the bus by 8:20 and left at 8:55, then felt rushed at the market and lunch stop. Another (23 October 2026) had the tour cancelled the day before. So book early, keep the operator’s WhatsApp group open, and have a fallback in mind for a port day.
